I posted a couple of images of the new skin. The canopy also has a new deep green tinting, very apparent when looking down-sun. Like an old pair of Ray-Bans.

It'd probably be best to reinstall them. A copy might work, but there's no guarantee.

Lack of updates

H gang,

Sorry about the relative lack of updates from me over the past week or so.

As many of you know, I work away from home during the week, so most of my updates come at weekends. For the very first time, I'm unable to get home this weekend due to the poor weather (I find it hard to believe you can be virtually "trapped" anywhere in the UK, but here I am!), so I have to rely on the very flaky Internet connection in my hotel room.

Hopefully normal service will resume soon :)

Why I'm an X-Planer

I get a lot of emails from people asking me why I prefer X-Plane to FSX and FS9, so I thought it was about time I wrote about the subject.

I'll try and keep to the facts, but I know there are going to be certain aspects of this article that are based purely on my personal preferences. I'll try and point those out as such.

Please bear in mind that all of these observations relate to my experience on my particular hardware.

Bringing in the best

I've decided to start moving over some of the more popular posts of the past from FlightSimDaily.

I've started with the popular Tutorial: Fly Over Your House With X-Plane and G2XPL post.

I figure this is a good way to a) showcase the popular stuff from the old blog and b) bring more people here (I'm removing the posts from FlightSimDaily and linking to them here).

If you have any particu… Continue

When the news isn't the news

On my constant search for the very latest flight sim news to show on the site, I do my best to check the source of the news to make sure it's a) current and b) correct.

I'm sure I get it wrong sometimes. I'm only human after all. But I've had to smile at the number of sites reporting on "Eaglesoft's latest addition" - the Eaglesoft Citation X Extreme V2.0 for FSX - which all point to this link. Take a lo… Continue

The News from FlightSimX this week

I think we're in the quiet spell that we seem to get every year during the summer, so not much news to report this week.

Greetings, Mark, and thanks for the welcome, much appreciated. I'm a newbie to X-planes from MS 2004, so there'll be a learning curve - nice to have a place to come to for the occasional assist! Best Wishes, WT

It feels like being a kid on Christmas morning. Waiting for something like this, being so jazzed about it. If the Falco is half as good as the MU2 I'll be stoked, but I see it as a test-bed to MU2v2, and that's what's got me fired up. The potential of this software is catching up to hardware now. Very kewl.
