Tim, Thanks! Yeah the water landing was fun, but the drag on the floats is amazing, you hit the water and stop a second later... Nothing like the sim planes.

Virtual Aviators

As some of you are probably aware, I also created a blog called Virtual Aviators. It was a "mashup" of the articles from a number of well established and respected flight simulation web sites.

Unfortunately, the site has yet again been hacked. For the last time. I know it's the last time because I've just closed the site and deleted it.

This may seem like pretty drastic action, but, to be honest, I just don't have the time or the energy to try and

Calling all bikers!

Hi folks,

I know we've got a few bikers here on the site. You may be interested in our fledgling Bikers Network, which runs along the lines of the Flight Sim Network. We've only got 4 members so far (including me), so feel free to come along and bump the membership up :)

You don't have to have a bike, just an interest.

You can find us here.

Whisky Tango Foxtrot by Chip Barber

Here's another terrific article from one of my favourite Flight Sim writers - Chip Barber. Posted with permission.

Sometimes, despite our wishes to the contrary, stuff just doesn't mean a darn thing. Take, for example, my recent fondness for FSX and vows of fidelity towards it.

If you are one who fancies the FSX missions, you may (or may not, who am I to make suppositions, or suppositories [word to the wise: do not ever confuse the two

Lack of updates

H gang,

Sorry about the relative lack of updates from me over the past week or so.

As many of you know, I work away from home during the week, so most of my updates come at weekends. For the very first time, I'm unable to get home this weekend due to the poor weather (I find it hard to believe you can be virtually "trapped" anywhere in the UK, but here I am!), so I have to rely on the very flaky Internet connection in my hotel room.

Hopefully normal service will resume soon :)

Why I'm an X-Planer

I get a lot of emails from people asking me why I prefer X-Plane to FSX and FS9, so I thought it was about time I wrote about the subject.

I'll try and keep to the facts, but I know there are going to be certain aspects of this article that are based purely on my personal preferences. I'll try and point those out as such.

Please bear in mind that all of these observations relate to my experience on my particular hardware.

Setting them up

This particular issue came to a head over the… Continue

Thanks for quick reply. Am looking forward to involving myself in this site. My main interest is X-plane but I use FS9 because it gives some better options but they are both as good!:). Anyway I will prowl around and add soon.

Have you looked at the photos in the August screenshot competition yet? There are some fantastic ones, if I had to choose a winner, I would find it impossible to choose ...... and it's only the first week.
