Hi Spud, i think the answer is to keep experimenting, straight from the off with the X-Plane version of REX i started mixing 'n' matching my own themes, the first one i did was a deep blue day sky with very orange sunset/sunrise with the biggest bil…

A job well done Simon, had a good laugh at all your signs too ! Just one gripe though, you did not leave me a vacant heli pad ! But very well done mate and for now i'll be happy with one new airport a week ha ha :-)

Yes, it's a good move by Carenado - they could make a killing by being (I think) the first major MSFS player to also produce X-Plane products. There are some excellent third party X-Plane aircraft and add-on developers, although they're few and far…

Hi, Thank god someone is finally taking X-Pane seriously. It by far exceeds anything that Microsoft has produced so far, and they could learn a lesson from the X-Plane developers. It will be nice to have some seriously well produced add on aeropla…

Hi Luca, To find this piece of scenery you need to complete the Tokio Executive Transport mission in FSX/Acceleration, when you get near to the end of the mission and see this scenery save the mission at this point and then you will be able to go ba…

Just can't stop flying it !

I've had the RealAir spitfire now for eleven days and i just can't leave it alone, i haven't so much as looked at another aircraft since i loaded it into fsx. its so visually stunning inside and out but its the way it fly's that's so great it just feels so right not that i've ever flown a real one but have seen many at airshows over the years. No other aircraft in FSX or FS9 has ever hooked me like the Spitfire i think the sound of the merlin engine has a lot to do with it but even the sound of… Continue

LOL! Something like that, mate :) It's good to be back on the network, but I can't pretend I'd rather not be back on that beach!

Thanks for the link Kevin.
This is an awesome site.
I just had a chance to go through it looking at the thumbs, but you can be sure I'm heading back to look at the images full size.
It's amazing to think that these shots were taken from the ground.
And man! What a great way to spend a day or two eh?
Thanks again.
Spud.

You have to use FS Recorder, FRAPS, editing Software and a lot of time. I have been thinking about Steven's (and others) comments about loss of FPS when recording Video and wanted to find a way to record detailed Videos on slower systems (or even more details on a fast system). There are several ways to do this: one is to use an external Video decoder (an expensive solution) or you can do what I did here.

1. Fly the sequence in real time with track recorder on (not your Video recorder but FS Recorder or other) and your usual settings
(here I did two flights with different planes) record the traffic if you want it in your Video.

2. Exit the flight and set your settings as desired (beware of the possibility to run out of memory), exit FS (even better restart your system).

3. Start the FS again and make some test runs with your recorded flight(s) and your video recorder running to find the best sim speed settings. In this Video I used ¼ or 20% speed and locked the recordings at 6 FPS (with FRAPS). I find the best settings to be dividable with the finale Video frame rate, here the finale Video have a frame rate of 24.

4. Record your (raw) Video with the settings (and simulation speed) you find best suited for your system, do not record the sound it will be useless. If you need the sound do a rerun of the flight with low settings in real time and use the editor to put it back later.

5. Now you have a raw Video that you can resample to real speed (here 6FPSx4 = 24).
If you want and recorded the sound put the real time sound back AFTER you have retendered the video track,
then render it again with the sound.

Now you have a Video track you can use to make your Video.

Hi Kev. I did see the video comment about the FPS problems from Steven, and I was thinking of a way to beat this problem. I have been testing and testing with use of only two CPU cores (FPS down to 12 without FRAPS), I think I have found a way. I working on a DEMO now I think it will be ready in a few days (our national day tomorrow so no work will bee done).
