Help

As you may have noticed, the Flight Simulator Network is a little different to your average site, so we've put together a few tips to get you started.

• Forum - the Forum is a general discussion area for the whole site
• Groups - These are discussion areas focusing on specific areas. We've currently got over 30 groups, covering most aspects of flight simulation. If you don't see one you like, you can create your own!
• Videos - You can upload your own videos to the site, or embed any video from YouTube, Vimeo etc
• Screenshots - you can upload directly to the site, or import from your Flickr account. Please note this section is for screenshots only. If you wish to add photos, please add them to a forum post, blog post etc.
• Chat - we've got live Chat on the site where you can chat to other members in real time
• Site Navigation - you move around the site using the Tabs at the top of every page. Some of the tabs "drop down" to show you more options. For instance, hover your mouse over the Main tab and you'll see lots of other areas you can visit
• "My Page" - click this Tab to go to your personal area on the site, which you can customise by adding your own application etc. Please take the time to add a profile picture.
• Network Badges - towards the bottom of the page, you'll see a Network Badge. You can grab the code for this and stick it on your web site, Facebook or MySpace page, in fact almost anywhere on the web. This is a great way for you to help us spread the word about the site.
• Blogs - every member has their own Blog on the Network - blog away to your hearts content!
• If you'd like to help spread the word about the Network, please read this page, which has lots of tips to help you.
• Newsletter - We have an email Newsletter that you can subscribe to. You can decide which updates you'd like to receive and how often - up to 3 times daily.

Upload limits

In an effort to be fair to everyone and allow all screenshots etc a reasonable chance of being seen, we have the following upload limits which apply:

• Screenshot competitions - 1 per member per week. This will make it much easier to vote on the winners and also make us all more selective and post only our best entries. Also, no photoshopping or other editing of the screenshots for the competitions, please. This means everyone's working on a level playing field
• General screenshot uploads - 8 per day per member. All screenshots should also have a proper title, e.g. Avro Vulcan, rather than a random file name
• Videos - 2 per member per day
